The ADA is sponsoring a public service ad to support the Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO) in countries like China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Tanzania, Nicaragua, and St. Lucia. The assignments can range from one to four weeks. Health Volunteers Overseas is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care in developing countries through education and training. Volunteers with HVO travel to resource-poor countries, with an emphasis on educating, clinical training, and increasing the number of local health workers that will benefit the community long after the volunteers have departed.
