PFA Japan: Sept 29-30, 2012
The 43rd annual meeting of PFA Japan will be held on September 29-30, 2012 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. I hope that many members will attend the meeting. And finally, as you know, many people suffered from the earthquake and tsunami in Japan last year. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for all your messages of compassion and encouragement.
Japan Section News
It is my great honor to also serve as the Section Chair of the PFA Japan for 2 years from January 1, 2012. I hope that you will support me as you did the former Section Chair of Japan, Dr. Keishi Matsumoto. I will also continue to serve as an international trustee of the Asia region 9.
I would like to increase the number of members and activities, and ask for your further support and cooperation. In each section of the Asia region, I would appreciate your help to increase the number of activities and new, talented members. The Pierre Fauchard Academy is an International Honor Dental Organization, and consists of renowned international dentists who promote services, ethics, and morals and provide education to members. All the members have much experience and various opinions, and I would like to manage the organization while maintaining harmony. The Academy was established in the U.S.A. in 1936. In 2011, a grand ceremony for its 75th anniversary was held in Paris, and 120 members from 16 countries attended it. The number of members is annually increasing, exceeding 8,000 last year.
The Japan Section was established in 1968, and a ceremony for the 40th anniversary was held in 2009 in the presence of Dr. Steven Hedlund, the then International President and his wife. The following year, the annual meeting was held in the presence of Dr. Hubert Ouvrard, and in 2011 in the presence of Dr. Joseph Harris and his wife. I’d like to express my gratitude to Dr. Hedlund, Dr. Ouvrard, and Dr. Harris for their participation. The academy hope for more activities in Japan. I would like to work more closely with the academy in the U.S.A.
Warmest regards,
Kiyoshi Ohura Trustee of Region 9
