The Annual Session of the Academy will be in Las Vegas. Dates, location and functions can be found on the calendar of events page at www.fauchard.org/
The last time the ADA had a meeting in Las Vegas was in 1995. Plans are well underway to host all our colleagues of the dental profession, both International and U.S. The Four Seasons Hotel will be the Headquarters Hotel for the Academy. The Four Seasons is conveniently located within the Mandalay Bay Hotel, which will serve as the Headquarters for the ADA. The exhibits will be located in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Under the leadership of President Howard Mark, the Academy continues to gain recognition in dental circles as one of the premiere International Honor Dental Organizations. At the coming meeting, Dr. William Winspear will be installed as the next International President. Bill is from Sydney Australia and his past experiences as a former Section Chair and Trustee will bring a knowledgeable style of leadership to the Board Room Table.
The Awards Luncheon is on Tuesday October 17th. And the Academy will be honoring the elite of our profession. Reservations forms can be found in the July/ August issue of the Dental Abstracts along side the Newsletter – Dental World. The past attendance at the luncheon has been outstanding, so if you are planning to attend, please send your reservation(s) to the Central Office as soon as possible.
The President's Reception is also on Tuesday , later in the evening starting at 6:00pm. Over the years it has become a popular affair, a gathering place for the friends and supporters of the Academy to meet and visit with the leadership of the Academy, both past and future. It is a great hour and a half of good fellowship. We look forward to having you join us in the Acacia Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel.
The President's Dinner will be on Wednesday the 18th of October. Reservations are necessary to attend this party that honors the out going and incoming Presidents of the Academy. This party has become a nice evening of good food and drink and time to get one on one with the current Officers and Trustees, sharing thoughts and having relaxing conservations. Call or write the Central Office for more information.
Administrative: It is always nice to report that the Academy is on sound financial ground, and because of this healthy status the Management Committee approved to keep the Annual Dues for 2007 at the same level as in 2006. As a reminder the Annual Section allowance is $300, and the Section Chair meeting stipend is set at $300. The U.S. Section rebate program will again continue for 2007, and be available upon request from the Section Chairs. Once again the Central Office thanks all those Section Chairs who have submitted Fellowship nominations for processing. Please keep us informed of any changes within your Sections so we can be sure your© Fellows keeping getting the Academy's Journal – Dental Abstracts and Newsletter.
