Poland Section Meeting In Poznan
Posted September 30, 2017 Dr. Zbigniew Klimek
Report from Dr Martyna Osiak regarding her work in Africa. Martyna Osiak is a person close to our Section, her work and ideals are the ones so crucial to the philosophy of PFA.
Dentist in Africa
Central African Republic is the poorest country in the world (Global Finance Magazine, 2017). Despite the richness of natural resources, climate conducive to cultivation, poverty can be observed there, as well as no access to clean water, to basic medical care, the unstable political situation and the ongoing struggles and fights between rebels which make worse, already dramatic situation of the local population. That's why I have decided to go on a medical mission to this country to help the most needy people. Three times I worked as a volunteer in Africa, the first time I went to Cameroon, and then to the Central African Republic, where after a few months I went for the second time seeing the huge needs of its inhabitants.
