Illinois Section Inducts 18 New Fellows

The Illinois Section of the Pierre Fauchard Academy held a virtual New Fellow Induction Ceremony on Thursday Mar 4, 2021.  As the Chicago Dental Society moved the Midwinter Meeting to a virtual event, Illinois PFA did as well.  It was disappointing not to be able to meet at a reception and have a more fitting ceremony worthy of the caliber of the organization and these inductees.  With that said, when we look on the bright side this was probably the very first time that 9 Officers and Trustees were present for an induction ceremony outside of an ADA meeting!  Dignitaries attending were from all over the U.S. and as far away as the Philippines. 

We are again very proud of the incredible talent, leadership and service exhibited by these new fellows, and we want to congratulate them again on receiving this high honor.

Conducting the ceremony were:

As part of the ceremony, each candidate was asked to have a spouse or significant person in their life accompany them for the presentation of the pin, certificate and ribbon.  In several cases those individuals were also dentists, which certainly added an extra sense of pride for both parties, as they bestowed this honor upon their loved one.

All inductees are exemplary leaders in Illinois dentistry and in their communities. Included are a Past-President, the President-Elect, Secretary, Speaker of the House, and four Trustees of the Illinois State Dental Society, many of whom are also active in the Chicago Dental Society.  Two office holders in the Illinois AGD and numerous office holders in the Chicago Dental Society are among the group.  All exhibit a dedication to volunteerism in dentistry and their communities.
