Dr. David Zaparinuk began his post-secondary education at the University of Victoria, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1984. Subsequently, he graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia in 1989. In addition, he has received numerous awards and recognition: • Fellowship of the International College of Dentists (2000) • Fellowship of the American College of Dentists (2005) • Fellowship of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (2006) • Fellowship of the Academy of Dentistry International (2007) • B.C. Dental Association Special Recognition Award (1999) • B.C. Dental Association Shooting Star Award (2003) • Canadian Dental Association Certificate of Merit (2005) • College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. Award of Merit (2014) He currently serves on the Advocacy Committee of the Canadian Dental Association and is a Dental Consultant for the Ministry of Children and Family Development of B.C. His past positions include serving as the President of the Victoria & District Dental Society (1992-1994), President of the B.C. Dental Association (2005-2006) and also a Member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Dental Association (2007-2011) and the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. (2012-2014). He has chaired and been involved on many committees with the British Columbia and Canadian Dental Association throughout his career. Within our community, Dr. Zaparinuk has participated as a member of the Task Force on AIDS and HIV infection with the CRD. He has also been involved with the Craigdarroch Castle Historical Museum Society (2000-2012), including serving as President (2004-2006). He currently serves on the Board of Directors and committees of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.
