Greetings to all of our Fellows around the world. We are now over 11,000 strong in 83 different countries and we continue to grow. As I travel to different areas, I see the common threads of professionalism, ethics and leadership in all of our Fellows. As stated in the last issue of Dental World, one focus for the year is finding commonality between dental organizations. We have made strides in that area. In February, the Executive Committee attended a leadership meeting at the American Dental Association (ADA) Headquarters in Chicago. The American Dental Association was represented by its President, Dr. Jeff Cole, Dr. Chad Gehani (the ADA President-elect), Dr Kathleen O’Loughlin (the ADA Executive Director), and the Senior Director, Practice Institute, Dr. Jim Willey. The goal of the meeting was to rebuild our relationship with the ADA, to discuss a potential joint venture with an emerging speakers series and to secure a long-term contract for the back cover of the ADA Annual Meeting preliminary program. The meeting was successful and a good step towards strengthening our mutual relationship. While in Chicago, we also attended the ICD/ACD luncheon. After the luncheon we met with the organizers, and our Academy will now be included in this event going forward.

Submission of photos and articles about Section activities are accepted for possible publication in the Dental World. Please contact the Editor for more information.
Photos submitted must be large and high enough resolution for printing, usually the minimum size is 4" x 6" and 600dpi resolution at 22 picas wide (after cropping) if sent electronically, and compressed JPEG photo images (.JPG ) are best for sending electronically. Sending actual photo prints on photographic paper via regular postal mail is also accepted.
