Greetings to all Fellows. It is hard to believe how much of this year has gone by, and time seems to fly by faster each time. I would like to share a little synopsis of events during the last few months. In April, I had the pleasure of visiting the Pierre Fauchard Academy’s Hall of Fame located in the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The University is known as the first dental college in the world and was founded in 1840. It is also the birthplace of the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. The Hall of Fame is displayed in the hallway leading to the Dean’s office. The joke is that for students who have seen the Hall of Fame, well, that probably isn’t a good thing. All kidding aside, if you have the opportunity to visit, it is well worth the trip. I was given a tour of the school during my visit and, even with his busy schedule, Dean Mark Reynolds gave me an hour of his time. We hope to do more to promote the Academy at the school. That evening, our Maryland Section, hosted by Section Chair Dr. Charles Fine, held an induction ceremony at a local restaurant.Download
